Our Teachers

As per the Canada-British Columbia Early Learning and Child Care Agreement research into early childhood education has found that quality child care provided by qualified ECEs can provide positive developmental outcomes for all children.

Our Teachers are qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECE) and ECE Assistants, with Childhood First Aid, who bring a variety of life experiences and interests to our classroom, which ad to the colourful make up of our school teaching environment.

Our teacher’s goals are to provide program excellence, valuing flexibility, cooperation, creativity and motivation by:

  • Capturing children’s natural curiosity
  • Engaging children in their learning
  • Accepting and celebrating the individuality of each child
  • Encouraging children to love learning
  • Building strong realtionships with each child and family
  • Respecting the needs of each child and family

ECE – Teacher Jenna

Working with children has always been a passion of mine. Going to University and getting my Early Childhood Educator Diploma, gave me a better foundation to build upon something I already knew. Children are smart, capable little beings. Curious about the world around them and full of great insight on how they view the world. The study of people in general is really fascinating to me. I am currently enrolled in University to get my Educational Assistant and Support Worker Certificate. I also work with SCACL on the Sunshine Coast, supporting people with disabilities. I have a son, Louis. He is 6 years old and loves to play baseball, go swimming and have play dates with friends. We are originally from Alberta but came for a visit to the Sunshine Coast, and decided we wanted to stay. We love the outdoors, the rain and the beach. My son went to preschool here and I’m so happy to be teaching at Jack and Jill.

3’s ECEA – Robin Dutcher – Early Childhood Education and it’s value, perked my interest seeing my twins growing from babies to toddlers. After enrolling them in Jack and Jill in 2018, I learned how the ages of 3-5 learn thru play, and how this play, molds their brains to enable them to be able to develop their developmental milestones, which ultimately sets them on the right path to be successful contributors to our society. This experience opened up a whole new world to me, where I decided I wanted to be involved in this process of the early stages of development, in the lives young children in our community. I am happy to now join Jack and Jill, as an Early Childhood Education Assistant. In my spare time, I tend to my farm with sheep and chickens, enjoy painting, creating and getting out to camp, bike, boat and and go skiing with my little family. I am also on the board of other Farming related Non-Profits , here on the Sunshine Coast, as I feel being part of a sustainable environment is imperative to our existance here on earth.
